For those who are blessed with long, flowing locks then the thought of shaving off your hair, let alone actually doing it, is no mean feat – and that’s exactly why this is a superb fundraising idea. If someone is willing to make this sacrifice, then it’s definitely worth a few fundraising pounds.
Often, head-shaving is related to cancer-associated charity fundraising but it can really work for any charity when the person shaving their head is passionate enough about the cause.
Okay so this time nobody has to bare the shape of their skull! In contrast, this is mostly a welcomed hair-related fundraising activity, which is popular with many children, teenagers and even some adults.
And if it’s for charity then you never know, even your gran and grandad might get involved! If you have some expert hair-stylists on-hand, then you could even set up a multi-service hairdresser stall which would surely go down a treat.
These days, cooking up tasty and healthy dishes is on the rise. Many people pride themselves on knowing the nutrient value and calorie count of almost any dish…so why not turn this into a fundraising activity?
After tasting a variety of dishes, individuals have to guess the number of calories and the nutrient value of each one and then decide which one is the healthiest.
Who doesn’t want to hug a pug?
It’s amazing the lengths some people will go to for a bit of playful puppy-time - so they might be up for parting with some of their hard-earned cash to do so.
They might want to take the dog for a walk, just have a little play or even have their photo taken with their new bestie!
As well as earning yourself a few charitable pounds, this one is surely set to get a few giggles too. Popular with adults and children, all you need is a few hula hoops and you’re ready to get fundraising. Just wait for a few people to arrive and you can begin – followed by plenty more rounds during the day.
Depending on how long the winners are staying for, you could have a grand final near the end of the day to finish off.
Sponsored walks and runs are popular fundraising activities, so a hike should also work well at grabbing attention, especially if it’s challenging enough.
A hike could be done as a group activity or a solo event and there are plenty of beautiful peaks to choose from around the country. The more adventurous types might even be daring enough to climb their chosen peak dressed as Bugs Bunny or similar.
This is bound to create more interest and just think of the photos!
