About the Project

We have collaborated with Markland Hill Primary School on several initiatives and projects. We customised each design of the playground to align seamlessly with the school’s visionary approach of embracing life in all its fullness. Our focus was not only on providing a space for flourishing but also on enhancing the quality of their curriculum. This tailored approach aimed to create a playground that not only resonated with the school’s values but also contributed to an enriched and holistic educational.

We expanded their EYFS area by transforming a significant portion of the grass field into a Bike Track, complete with Artificial Grass islands. This track features a variety of elements, including a sizable Roundabout with a customized Center Signpost and Tire Planter, a Petrol Station equipped with a Pump, Parking Bays featuring a Village Shop panel, Zebra Crossings, Giveaway Lines, and Directional Arrows. This Bike Track serves an exciting opportunity for children to enhance their gross motor skills, as they navigate the track on bikes and other forms of transportation. They are encouraged to engage in role-play scenarios, fostering both enjoyment and a deeper understanding of road safety.

We also introduce our Tigris Play Structure as a tool for  improving the children’s gross motor skills. The nature of the components contributes to a comprehensive play environment, fostering the overall physical development of the pupils. The features included a slide, arch ladder, rope bridge, net climber, log ramp, rope ladder and Bonded Rubber Mulch as Safety Surfacing.

To enhance the playground experience for both Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils, we utilised a narrow strip of grass alongside the expansive tarmac area. Here, we installed a dynamic Fitness & Adventurer trail, featuring a variety of engaging elements. Among these are the Traverse Wall, Swinging Steps, Slalom, Rope Traverse, Zig Zag Walker, Stilts, and Burma Bridge. The installation is complemented by the use of Wetpour surfacing, ensuring a safe and comfortable play environment.

This thoughtfully designed trail provides children with multiple opportunities for physical development. As they navigate the Traverse Wall, their strength is put to the test. Stepping over stilts and crossing the Burma Bridge enhances their balance, while the Zig Zag Walker challenges their coordination. The Rope Traverse adds an exciting element, refining their hand-eye coordination as they glide through this adventurous feature. This comprehensive setup not only promotes physical fitness but also encourages skill development in various domains, making the playground an engaging and beneficial space for the students.

“After obtaining three quotes for our playground project, we decided to go with Playground Imagineering for the following reasons: I was very impressed with their presentation and proposal as they planned the project with our needs in mind and I felt I was receiving a bespoke service rather than an off the peg solution. As a result the product matches our needs and that of the site perfectly. They were always professional,  responsive and when changes were requested, they were dealt with smoothly and without question. I would have no hesitation in recommending Playground Imagineering.”
