About the Project
At Amesbury Primary School they had a large grass area underneath a canopy of trees, which was due a transformation. The School asked for a warm and welcoming environment for their pupils which would boost their physical and mental wellbeing.
The existing grass was in terrible condition, so we laid down artificial grass which is low maintenance, durable and self-draining. This kept a natural-looking green surface throughout, which was still fitting within a natural setting. We loved making use of the impressive tree which stood within the playground by and turning it into a Tree House Climbing Structure with Log Climbing Wall and Slide.
Away from the trees we installed a Car Track, complete with Zebra Crossings, a Timber Bridge and Archway. It is a fantastic way for children to develop there gross motor skills, as they wiz around on their bikes and other forms of transportation, enjoying role play and understanding road safety.
As another way to improve the children’s gross motor skills we installed various Fitness & Adventure Trail which would test their balance, strength and hand-eye coordination.
Our large lid covered Sand Pit encourages children to take part in messy play within a dedicated area. Children can take on hands on activities, mathematical and science discoveries with their classmates, the opportunities are endless. The lids are easy to handle and protects the Sand Pit from local wildlife visitors.
The children can now take part in imaginative play in our Timber Play House, where they can story tell, role play and create unique play experiences, whilst building relationships with peers.
Finally we installed our Story Tellers Area, where children can tell stories, read poems, listen and learn from their fellow peers and teachers. It is a great way for children to build their confidence and self esteem.
