About the Project

Colmers Farm Primary School wanted to add additional play value to their KS1 and 2 playground with our fitness and adventure trail equipment. They have a large area of grass located next to the tarmac playground which was the perfect location to expand onto. We used a range of high and low level equipment to test the different age ranges strength ad abilities. The real mix of equipment also provided a longevity to the play value and provided a progressive challenge that the children can work on throughout their time at the school.
Equipment varied from low level level balance beams, great for working on balance to high level Vertical Spiders Webs and Up and Over Frame to test strength and agility. Traverse Walls, Cross Ropes and Tyre Traverse are a stepping stone between the easier low level items and the more testing high level pieces.
A bonded rubber mulch surfacing was added in two colours to show the trail path and also allow easy access throughout the area all year round.

“The children love their new playground it works so well whatever the weather! Our children absolutely love the sandpit and the bespoke treehouse! They especially enjoy building dens underneath the treehouse, turning it into their own little hideaway.”
