About the Project
For The Cathedral School C of E Voluntary Aided Primary School we wanted to ensure their playground could be used to it’s full potential. We offered as many various play elements as we could, for the children to dive into.
We installed our Sunrise Climbing Structure where children can test out their climbing abilities, by using the rope and rock ramp and ending by riding the slide. This structure not only tests the children’s strength and coordination but will help build their confidence daily.
By using an existing bark area we transformed this into a hands on Messy Play Area for children to use their imaginations and improve on their fine motor skills. Our Mud Kitchen is a great place for the children to play independently or collaboratively with their peers. As they use the Scales, Mud Table with Mushroom Seats, Chalk Board, Stepping Stones, Mud Store, the children increase their vocabulary, as they explain their different processes.
A new and exciting Road Track was laid onto the centre of the school playground, to encourage the children to jump on their bikes, race down the lanes and keeping balance as they travel around the roundabouts and stop at the different junctions. This Bike Track is a great way to improve on Gross motor skills, such as coordination, balance and reaction time.
